The Brief
The homeowners wanted a pool that would complement their new home while leaving room for the kids to play. With a compact backyard and neighbouring homes close by, they wanted a softer, greener alternative to a traditional pool-and-paving layout—a welcoming family space with its own character.
The Solution
Careful planning allowed us to incorporate the pool while preserving valuable lawn space for play. Along one side of the pool, an 800mm-deep, 600mm-high raised garden bed was constructed using besser blocks. Waterproofing inside the bed protects the adjoining pool area, while a mix of plants and grasses softens the surrounds and brings warmth and greenery to the backyard. Access was restricted to a roller door at the rear of the garage, requiring particular care when moving machinery and materials through the near-new property. The crane was positioned in the driveway to lift the pool shell over the garage and into place. The result is an inviting pool area that blends into the garden, giving the family space to swim, relax and play.
