The Brief
Whitehaven Retreat is a stunning coastal-inspired backyard transformation that blends architectural precision with relaxed Mediterranean elegance. Designed around an 8m x 4m Valentina pool in Silvermist, the project combines premium French Cream limestone paving, layered rendered walls, white pebble landscaping and a striking custom curved architectural feature to create a luxurious outdoor sanctuary. Every element was carefully considered to deliver a space that is both visually refined and highly functional, resulting in a project recognised as a 2026 SPASA Awards Finalist.
The Solution
The homeowners envisioned a bright, resort-style outdoor retreat inspired by Mediterranean design, centred around a pool that would become the focal point of their backyard. Bringing this vision to life required more than a standard pool installation. The project demanded close coordination between structural engineering, construction and landscape design to seamlessly integrate a custom curved drop edge beam with rendered retaining walls and surrounding hardscaping. Despite the challenges of a sloping block, restricted side access and a busy roadside location, careful planning and precise construction ensured every detail aligned with the client's vision. Premium materials, including a Silvermist Crystalite ColourGuard® interior, French Cream limestone paving, frameless glass fencing and textured landscaping, were selected to create a timeless, light-filled aesthetic. The finished result is a cohesive outdoor living space that balances clean geometric lines with soft architectural curves, delivering exceptional functionality, craftsmanship and visual impact. The project showcases MFP Easy's ability to transform complex design concepts into beautifully executed outdoor environments and was proudly recognised as a Finalist in the 2026 SPASA Awards.
