The Brief
The homeowners wanted to transform their backyard into a private, resort-style retreat where they could escape the summer heat. A Silver Mist pool, light surrounds and tropical planting would complement their self-built, boardwalk-style deck, inspired by walks along the bay. The vision combined relaxed coastal character with easy maintenance.
The Solution
The long, narrow property presented a significant access challenge. At almost 70 metres long and just 12 metres wide, with limited access beside the home, the installation required a 100-tonne crane reaching more than 50 metres to position the pool. To complement the homeowners’ boardwalk-style deck, sections of the pool were constructed approximately 400mm above ground using a drop edge beam. The exposed structure was clad in travertine, creating a cohesive finish between the raised pool edge, coping and surrounds. Together, the Silver Mist pool, natural stone and the owners’ decking and tropical planting brought their vision of a private backyard resort to life.
