A custom fibreglass pool uses an existing factory mould. The selected model determines the pool’s shape and depth profile.
MFP Easy offers 40 shell models across five size categories: round and small, medium, large, and lap. Customers can select the following options for each order:

Beach entry ledges and built-in spas are exceptions. These features are moulded into the shell and supplied as part of the selected model.

In Brisbane, installed prices typically range from approximately $46,000 to $109,000. The price depends on pool size, selected options, and site conditions. Site access is the condition most likely to affect excavation costs.
Shapes that are not available from an existing mould require a concrete pool formed on site. MFP Easy does not build concrete pools.
Can fibreglass pools be custom made?
No. Fibreglass pool shells are manufactured in factories using fixed moulds. The mould determines the model’s shape, depth grade and built-in features.

Concrete pools are formed on site. Their shape and depth can be designed for the block.

What can you customise on a fibreglass pool?
You can customise the following items:
- Shell model. The model determines the pool’s shape, depth grade, and moulded features.
- Size category. The model determines the size category.
- Gelcoat colour. Choose the shell’s coloured surface from the available colour range.
- Waterline tile. Choose the tile band installed along the waterline. This is listed separately in the quote.
- Coping and paving. Choose the finish for the top edge of the shell and the paved area around the pool. These are quoted for your block.
- Pool fencing. Choose flat-top metal or frameless glass fencing. Fencing is priced per order.
- Filtration and sanitisation package. The pump, filter, and water-treatment equipment are quoted as a package for the selected pool.
- Heating. Choose either a heat pump or a blanket and roller.
The quote lists each selected item separately. Optional items include LED lighting, spa jets, water features, deck jets, hand rails, and a robotic cleaner.

How do you see a custom pool design in your own yard before you build?
MFP Easy provides a free custom 3D render of the pool in your own yard before you commit. The render shows the selected pool model, gelcoat colour, coping, and paving in a 3D concept of your yard.
The concept uses the pool model that will be installed. This lets you assess the pool’s shape in the intended location instead of relying on a photograph of another yard.
How many pool shapes and sizes can you choose from?
MFP Easy installs a 40-model range of fibreglass pool shapes and sizes across five categories: round, small, medium, large and lap.
- Round models include design-certified round shells.
- Lap models include shells over 8 metres long.
- Small models include small shells that can take spa equipment.
- Other models are classified as medium or large.
You can compare the available depth profiles for all 40 standard models. MFP Easy does not create custom fibreglass moulds for individual orders.

The pool shell accounts for about one-quarter to one-third of the installed price. The remaining cost covers excavation, crane hire, the base, filtration installation, coping and surrounds, certification, and site works. Certification and approvals cost about $2,800 to $3,400.
Options and site conditions affect the final price. Site access often affects excavation costs. Tight access can triple the excavation cost. Items excluded from a basic quote can add $7,000 to $10,000 or more. Compare quotes based on the included specifications. Site-dependent costs are confirmed after your block is measured.
When should you choose a concrete pool instead?
Choose a concrete pool if the required shape is not available as a fibreglass mould. Concrete pools are formed on site and can accommodate custom shapes, non-standard depths and irregular boundaries.
Canstar reported in January 2025 that the average installed cost of a concrete inground pool was $50,000 to $75,000. Some projects cost $100,000 or more. MFP Easy’s installed fibreglass pool prices in Brisbane are in the $46,000 to $109,000 range stated above.
JKO Pool Construction estimates that a concrete pool takes 8 to 12 weeks to build on site. This includes a curing period of about 30 days before finishing work. JKO estimates that a fibreglass shell takes 2 to 4 weeks to install on site.
Common Australian concrete pool finishes include pebblecrete and quartz render. Australian pool renovators generally recommend resurfacing these finishes every 15 to 20 years. Fibreglass gelcoat does not have a scheduled resurfacing interval.

What is the downside of a fibreglass pool?
A fibreglass pool has a fixed shape. The shell is moulded before delivery, so its outline, depth grade, and built-in features cannot be changed for an individual order. Buyers who need a shape outside the available range must use concrete. Gelcoat colour, surrounds, fencing, and equipment can still be selected for each order.
Can you get a custom-shaped fibreglass pool in Australia?
No. Fibreglass pool shells are manufactured using existing moulds. You can choose from available models and customise the surrounding features. Can you add a spa or a beach entry to a fibreglass pool?
Spa jets can be added to any model and are quoted separately.
Built-in spas and beach entry ledges are moulded into the pool shell. They cannot be added to a model that does not include them. MFP Easy's Resort range includes models with built-in spas.
Can you choose the colour of a fibreglass pool?
Yes. Select the gelcoat colour from the available range when you order. The gelcoat forms the coloured surface of the pool shell. Waterline tiles, coping, and paving are selected separately and priced as individual items.
Are custom fibreglass pools more expensive than standard fibreglass pools?
